MONITORING CAMERA MAKING

By leejaekyung, in camera development on .

For the data collection of construction project, weather station, or pet’s behavior tracking, we need to camera which can send photo to internet. We call this, “Monitoring Camera!”. Monitoring camera have to work without electric line, and have to send photo or video without LAN line. These two functions are most important things for monitor camera.

We will use Raspberry Pi and Raspberry camera for testing. First, we are going to setup webRTC for camera streaming.

Let’s install webRTC. WebRTC (Web Real-Time Communication) is a collection of communications protocols and application programming interfaces that enable real-time communication over peer-to-peer connections. This allows web browsers to not only request resources from backend servers, but also real-time information from browsers of other users.(wikipedia)
This enables applications like video chatting, file transfer(or streaming), or desktop sharing without the need of either internal or external plugins. WebRTC is supported in the Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Firefox, etc.

Now let’s install. follow the reference site, install that required package at the Raspberry Pi OS(I guess it is Ubuntu).
